On Saturday 14 June 2025, colleagues from Kingston and Open Spaces laced up their walking boots for a sponsored walk in support of Diabetes UK, Kingston’s charity partner for 2025.
The group followed the scenic Northumberland Coast Path, covering just over 13 miles from Druridge Bay Country Park to Alnmouth, passing through Amble and Warkworth Castle.
This incredible effort has already raised more than £2,500, with donations still coming in. This adds to the impressive fundraising total for the year, which has now surpassed £3,000 – smashing the original target of £1,000.
Well done to Charity Champion, Amy Scott, for organising the event and to Erica King for mapping out the route. The other participants included Paul Carter, Cheryl Cessford, Karen Cribbs, Rebecca Longstaff, Adele Telford, Phil Atkinson, Adam Storey, and Zara Denton.
The team enjoyed ideal walking conditions throughout the day – with the rain only making an appearance once they had reached the beer garden, where a well-deserved drink rounded off the day.
A huge thank you to all colleagues, friends and family, contractors, and stakeholders for their generous contributions to this cause.
