A team of Kingston volunteers took to the starting line for The Sunshine Run 5K on Wednesday 18 June, joining hundreds of others along Newcastle’s scenic Quayside to raise funds for a fantastic cause.

The event, now in its 22nd year, was organised by The Chronicle Sunshine Fund, a local charity dedicated to improving the lives of children with disabilities across the North East.

With ideal weather conditions and a buzzing atmosphere, The Sunshine Run 5K saw a number of personal bests achieved among our team.

Kingston proudly supported the event by donating all entry fees on behalf of our participants – Phil Atkinson, Christine Doherty, Jo Finney, Rachel Finney, Claire Hall, Harry Hirst, Martin Knotts, Nkosana Kumwenda, Kiran Singh, Adam Storey, Phil Wilson, and Lisa Younger.

Whether chasing times or simply enjoying the route, our team showed great energy and team spirit – well done to all involved for supporting such a meaningful cause.
