James Johnston marks first anniversary at Kingston by achieving ACCA membership and becoming a qualified accountant.
Congratulations to Kingston Finance Officer, James Johnston, for completing his ACCA (Association of Chartered Certified Accountants) qualification and achieving ACCA member status.
The globally recognised “gold standard” qualification requires students to pass a series of exams as well as complete workplace performance objectives over a minimum of three years.
Members must also update their skills and prove their competency by fulfilling continuing professional development requirements throughout their working lives.
“I’m just relieved it’s completed and finalised,” said James. “Although I started working towards the qualification and passed the exams some time ago, before I came to Kingston, it’s taken a while to get everything signed off.”
James worked in audit at Big Four accountancy firm Deloitte, as well as in practice and industry, before landing his current role in the finance department at Kingston early last year. He paid tribute to the support he has received from Kingston, in particular Client Finance Team Leader, Nkosana Kumwenda.
“On day one, when I first walked through the door, Nkosana said I would be an ACCA full member within a year. He was true to his word, almost to the day.”
We are delighted to share that Rachel Finney, Kingston’s Building Safety Compliance Manager, has been awarded the Chartered Institute of Building (CIOB) Level 6 Certificate in Fire Safety for Construction.
Huge congratulations to our Managing Director, Paul Carter, who on Saturday 13th September completed the Northumberland Coast Mighty Hike 2025 in support of Macmillan Cancer Support!
